I went to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the IMAX yesterday, which was epic. We had fantastic seats and I had screen printed a t-shirt and this bag for the occasion.

nice.

I tend to give the folders on my computer weird, non-helpful names - things like "stuff" and "more" and "other stuff". These are from a folder called "nice", which, for once, is an accurate title.

Mu Dooru

Mu Dooru from Mjölk

This cute little guy was waiting for me when I picked up my mail after returning from vacation.
He's from the very nice shop Mjölk and Juli couldn't have been more helpful with the ordering process!

Cats

ivory
This is my grandmother's cat, Ivory. Isn't she cute? When she plays her nose and ears turn really pink. She also likes to stick her paws under closed doors to see what's going on in the rooms without her.

It's been really hot lately and at night I sit up with the fan on and sketch kitties.

The Cat Club,
The one on the bottom left says "Meowrice Chevalier." :)

I've been a bit behind on my reading lately, what with working and getting ready for an upcoming trip. Now I'm trying to narrow down the books to bring along on vacation. Here are the ones up for consideration:

Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro
Swallowdale - Arthur Ransome
England Made Me - Graham Greene
A Coffin for Dimitrios - Eric Ambler
Carry On, Jeeves - P.G. Wodehouse (I'm definitely bringing this one!)
Mein Name sei Gantenbein - Max Frisch
Writings from The New Yorker 1927-1976 - E.B. White
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer
Berlin - Pierre Frei
The High Window - Raymond Chandler

For some reason, I like to read mysteries during the summer. I really don't read them at all during the rest of the year.

Les chansons d'amour

This Sunday I rewatched Les chansons d'amour. It had been a while since I saw it last and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the songs. I also like that the actors don't all necessarily have the best singing voices, but they sing with such honesty and feeling, which is more important. (I don't like when actors' voices are dubbed for singing!)
I sometimes wonder why there aren't more musical dramas. After all, people don't only feel like singing when they're happy. Here are two of my favorites from the film:

Les yeux au ciel - sung by Louis Garrel

Au parc - sung by Chiara Mastroianni
